This was a Broad-gauge (5’6”) six-wheeler, 10,414 mm long 18.7 ton wooden bodied saloon built by Southern Railway Workshops, Perambur, and worked at Madras and Southern Mahratta Railway, and later the South Central Railway. With a verandah at one end and a servants’ compartment and a kitchen at the other end, it was built for the use of railway officers during their inspections. Its previous number was ERA-024.
